ABOUT US

The Oak Room is based in the North Devon & Exmoor town of Lynton & Lynmouth. The restaurant is opposite the town hall in Lee Road, with the building dating back to the 1890s when Lynton was expanding due to the growth in tourism. In 2008 Steve (from Devon) and Irene (from Barcelona) purchased the place and ran it as a traditional restaurant. A few years later, they turned it into a tapas bar and restaurant, creating a lovely Spanish dining experience that quickly became one of the favourite places to eat both for locals and visitors.

In 2018 Steve and Ren decided to make Spain their new home and they passed over the business to us, the current owners – Mike and Yana.

I, Mike have been the right hand man for Steve for over 8 years as the chef of the restaurant and my wife Yana was the restaurant manager for over 3 years. I have spent a lot of time travelling throughout Spain and have tasted a lot of the cuisine and have met a lot of good Spanish people along the way. My wife Yana, was born and raised in Bulgaria, where just like in Spain, dining is not just about going out to enjoy a nice meal, it is about socialising and enjoying the company of others. All this you will find in our restaurant aswell, because for us it is more than just tasty tapas.

We are very proud to have a place, where our guests can enjoy good food in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, where you will be welcomed as in our home. So come and visit us at The Oak Room for a great vibe with friends and family.
